The challenges being experienced in the power sector can be surmounted with continuing collaboration with both local and foreign partners. This collaboration will also lead a growth in capacity for Nigerians especially in the power sectors. Power, Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola, says the federal government is working hard to diversify the Nations energy mix and reduce over dependence on gas powered generating stations.
With investor interest in the Nations’ power sector growing by the day and business delegations coming in to declare their interest in doing business with Nigeria, the days of epileptic power supply are numbered, the latest to come in is the Canadian high commissioner to Nigeria Perry John Calderwood.
Welcoming the visiting High Commissioner, the Minister disclosed that the Federal Government will continue to collaborate with both local and foreign partners to ensure that the power sector grows and deliver on the huge promise inherent in the sector. He adds that the Federal Government will continue to collaborate with partners like the Canadian Government something he describes as a case of expanding on what has been done before.
