Boundary disputes has seen two Local Government Areas, Shendam and Mikang at the door steps of the State Government. Although leaders of the two local governments have resolved to abide by the resolutions reached at the reconciliations, the claims and counter claims of lands in the state has continue to bring about conflicts in the state.
The people of Shendam and those of Mikang Local Government Areas that have been at war with each over disputed lands are expressing their willingness to lay down their arms and seek a peaceful means of resolving their differences.
Before inaugurating a boundary adjustment committee, Deputy Governor of the State, who doubles as the Chairman of the state’s boundary commission says the state government is only coming as a referee and that the warring parties must be peaceful in their approach.
