The Vice Chancellor of the University Of Jos is asking the Plateau State Government to assist the tertiary institution in the provision of qualitative education. Receiving the state governor who is an alumnus of the university, he pleaded for attention to be given to the university which he says lacks an adequate study hall, chairs and other educational materials.

The Vice Chancellor says it is necessary for government to step in and arrest the decaying infrastructure in the university so as to ensure that its graduates are competitive anywhere in the world. He condemns the situation whereby some of the institutions graduates are still being made to pass some test before advancing in their education when they go abroad.

Governor Simon Lalong promised to look in to the matter and also used the occasion to expressed delight at the peace that has returned to the state.
