CHILDREN’S DAY: GROUPS CALLS FOR FIGHT AGAINST CHILD VIOLENCE

The 27th of May is celebrated as the Nations children’s day and the St. Luke Children Care givers in Gwagwalada Abuja is not left out in letting the children have a feel of their care giving. They have about the area council giving gift items as part of their social to the less privileged in the area.

This years celebration theme is tagged stop sexual violence against children following the different issues on child molestation and assaults in the Society. It’s no longer news that almost on a daily basis, children are assaulted, the effect often times resulting in serious psychologically damages leaving the offenders to roaming free and the need to save the Nigerian child cannot be overemphasized.

Medical experts say the effects and physical signs of a sexually abused child is surmounting while attempting to proffer solutions on ways the children can be protect from been victims. The first point of contact for any child is the parents and they are also expressing their minds on the need for Government to enact the enabling laws that will provide for serious punishment for perpetrators of these acts and the need for parents to create time and listen to their children.
