Legal luminaries under the umbrella of Nigeria Bar Association are insisting that if the current campaign against corruption in the country must succeed, there must be effective, independent anti-corruption agencies and the Judiciary. The legal practitioners made this view known at the NBA state of the nation conference in Abuja.
The State of the Nation conference organised by the Nigeria Bar Association attracted legal practitioners from different parts of the country. With the aim of reviewing the state of the nation’s democracy under President Muhammadu Buhari’s one year old administration, members of the Bar Association commended the President’s position against corruption.
They are however insisting that the campaign against corrupt practices both in public and private sector must be conducted in line with the constitution of the Nation.
