ACCOUNTABILITY: ARMED FORCES SET INSTITUTE PROPER PROCUREMENT PROCESSES

The Nigerian Armed forces is adopting global best practice to sanitise procurement system in the military as contained in the public procurement act 2007. Chief of Defence staff, Gen Gabriel Olonisakin says, there is need to understand the policy thrust of the current administration as it’s relates to accountability and transparency in procurement process of the military equipment. This and more he made known at the at the Defence Headquarters procurement seminar in Abuja.

The theme of the seminar, capability management of the armed forces of Nigeria through an integrated procurement system, derives it’s focus from global best practice, where urgent operational requirements are matched with needs assessed from end users.

Chief of Defence Staff says, the seminar is a veritable tool in efforts to ensure readiness and abide with the Federal Government rules and regulations, accountability in the management of public funds.
