ONE YEAR ON: SENATE ASSESSES SELF AFTER ONE YEAR IN OFFICE

The Senate has Wednesday been assessing its performance over the last one as the national assembly celebrates the anniversary of its inauguration. President of the Senate says the Eighth Assembly has indeed performed to its utmost best during the last one year bringing Laws that that will better the lot of the Nigerian people.

Meanwhile it has also received a communication from the President asking approval for forty five careers diplomatic as Ambassadors. Inaugurated exactly one year ago, the Senate hit the ground running though in the wrong direction. Issues on who becomes President of the Senate through up Senator Bukola Saraki of the APC and the deputy President going to Ike Ekweremadu of the PDP.

Twelve months down the line, calm seem to have come to the red chamber and legislative business has been ongoing as highlighted at Thursday’s plenary.
