As part of the efforts to efficiently manage the armed forces of Nigeria, the Minister for Defence, Masur Dan Ali says, there is need to adopt an integrated Ministry in order to deepen the Civil Democratic Control of the Armed Forces. He stated this while delivering a lecture at the Defence College on Management of Defence: the Nigerian experience in Abuja.
He explains that there is need to restructure and reform the ministry as well as the Defence Headquarters so as to encourage proper coordination between the services and the stakeholders. The separate workings of both the Ministry of Defence and Defence Headquarters seem to hamper efficient management of the Defence of the Nigerian armed forces.
The Minister for Defence says adopting an integrated MOD will strengthen civil Military Corporation as well as promote trust, partnership, and relationship between civilians and the officers and men of the Armed Forces.
