NIGERIAN AIR FORCE DEPLOYS EXTRA TROOP TO THE NORTH EAST

The Nigerian Air Force as part of its renewed commitment to enhance operational efficiency has deployed fighter jets in a new phase of the operation against insurgency in the northeast of the country. Chief of Training and Operations of the Force, ‎Air Vice Marshal Abdullahi Iya gave this hint in Maiduguri Friday at the launch of operation Gama Aiki.

‎Air Vice Marshal Iya says operation OPERATION GAMA AIKI is meant to support the Multi-National Joint Task Force in the crackdown on Boko Haram insurgents who are fleeing to northern Borno around the Lake Chad Basin. Following the successful completion of the first phase of its war against boko haram insurgents in the North East, the Nigerian Airforce has began its second leg aimed at dealing a final blow to the insurgents.

The Chief of training and operations expresses hope that this recently launched counterinsurgency operation will be successful stating that Nigerian Air Force is optimist this will be the final push required to militarily defeat Boko Haram.
