Lawyers to the Shiite leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky have expressed shock that their client is said to be at the Department of State Service’s protective custody at his own will. DSS Counsel Tijani Gazali put up this argument at the Federal High Court during the hearing of the human rights violation suit filed by El Zakyzaky and his wife Zainab against the Federal Government.
The claim that the Shiite leader Ibrahim El-Zakzaky is being detained by DSS at his own volition, according to his lawyers is contrary to their client’s contention that the detention is unlawful and unconstitutional.
El-Zakzaky lawyers fault the claim of the DSS, they say it is a shocking news to them because their client has not briefed them that he was being detained on his own will.
