The wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari has donated assorted relief materials to 500 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), victims of insurgents and less privileged in order to cushion their economic hardship in Borno state. The occasion took place at the Multi Purpose Hall, Government House in Maiduguri on Saturday.
Distributing the relief items through the Chairperson of the Committee, wife of Borno State Governor, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima said, the gesture became necessary in view of concern by Hajiya Aisha Buhari and the President to take care of IDPs and victims of insurgents, especially women and children who are the vulnerable group in the society.
She recalled that recently, the Committee had distributed relief items to IDPs mostly pregnant women, lactating mothers, children and those who sustained injuries due to suicide bombings and were hospitalised at various hospitals in Borno state.
