The Senate has resolved to invite the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Secretary of the ministry to appear before it to explain the criteria used in selecting nominees for appointment as ambassadors.

Members in plenary say some states have been unfairly omitted from the list and therefore needs to be stalled until the authorities of the ministry are invited to the Senate.

Raising a point of order, the mover of the motion observed that his constituents are not represented on the list of nominees for appointment as Ambassadors.
