NIGCOMSAT LAUNCHES L – BAND NAVIGATION SYSTEM

Nigerian Satellite Communication has launched the L-Band application in order to augment the global navigation satellite system. Minister for Communication represented by the permanent secretary of the Ministry Sunday Echono says the trend is to leverage the ICT to stimulate economic growth as well as sustain rapid socio economic development.

He made this known at a workshop on phase implementation of satellite based Augmentation system in Abuja. Africa and the middle-east are experiencing the fastest growth in Global Navigation satellite system in the world. The Navigation payload of NICOMSAT has been designed to support and operate in both security strategic national infrastructure and public safety utility.

Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Communication says it will provide requisite interconnectivities to government agencies, private sectors, and citizens beyond cities and urban area.
