The National Directorate of Employment in Plateau State has embarked on a Youth Empowerment Training Programme. This time the training is however of a different kind as it involves well digging. The choice of the skill was said to be necessary to engage the restive youths and provide water for residents all year round.
The NDE says it is a way of reducing the high level of unemployment in the state. Youth unemployment in Plateau state has been identified one of the reasons for the perennial communal clashes in the state, the National Directorate of Employment in the state has organized a skill acquisition program which will focus on massive youth employment.
NDE State Coordinator states that they are ready to engage in any activity that will gainfully engage the youths.
