All outstanding re-run elections will be concluded before the end of July this year. Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmud Yakubu also says the date for the conclusion of the re-run elections in the 4 states of Kogi, Kano, Imo and Rivers states will soon be known after the stakeholder’s consultative conference in Abuja.
The 2nd quarterly regular meeting of the Resident Electoral Commissioners with the management team of the Independent National Electoral Commission according to the Chairman of the commission is to deliberate on important issues affecting the electoral process in the country. He discloses that the meeting will also be deliberating on preparations for the Edo state Governorship Election and other sundry issues affecting election conduct in the country.
He notes that the Continuous Voter Registration held in both states captured over a hundred thousand new Voters in each state.
