Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has promised not to force any community into giving up their land for the proposed grazing or ranching policy. Youths, women and various communities have staged protest in Plateau State to register their rejection of the grazing policy which the Governor is still pushing ahead.

The Governor has been on the hot seat for suggesting that the indigenes give part of their land for grazing reserves or ranching
but he seem to have found some cooling as he assures that no community will be forced to give up its land, but that those who choose to donate their land for ranching will be compensated adequately.
