They never expected that their lives will remain like this up until now. But now the Internally Displaced Persons from the North East in the Durumi Camp in the FCT have called for more attention to their condition. The camp which houses mode than ten thousand persons mostly women and children is devoid of basic amenities such as educational institutions, medical facilities and even medical personnel to cater for their health needs.

Durumi phase 1 in the FCT is one of the IDP camps were there are inadequate educational institutions, good medical center or enough drugs for over ten thousand people, women and children inclusive. The dilapidated road to the camp is another cause for worry as very few individuals, non-governmental organizations and religions bodies are not able to gain access to give their support to the camp.

Chairman of the camp says the facilities on ground are not conducive and they can manage the donations from philanthropists and religions bodies despite their population especially the pharmacy.
