The trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, alongside two others has been stalled due to the court’s vacation that commenced on July 11.

The accused persons are facing trial at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Jabi, Abuja, on charges bordering on forgery of Senate Standing Orders 2015.

When Saraki and his fellow accused persons were arraigned on June 27 for the alleged offence, they all pleaded not guilty and the trial judge, Justice Yusuf Halilu subsequently ordered them to produce two sureties each who must have landed properties in the highbrow areas of Abuja namely Asokoro, Maitama and Wuse.
