The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed has again warned legal practitioners in the country to take the ethics of their profession seriously while discharging their duties. Justice Mohammed gave the warning in Abuja at a one-day workshop on anti-corruption, ethics of the legal profession and justice sector.
The workshop on the anti-corruption and the roles of lawyers was put together by the Nigerian Bar Association and the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption to find a way forward on eradicating this festering cankerworm.
Represented by a Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, at the occasion, the CJN frowned at the attitude of some Lawyers who are alleged to abuse the Code of Conduct of their profession because of their pecuniary interest.
