The controversy surrounding the issue of Electricity Tariff in Nigeria is unnecessary and need not be but for mischief. The association of electricity distributors say it has no proposal before the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission for tariff hike in the Power Sector but adds that if there will be any review of tariffs in the sector it is the responsibility of the regulator.
The news headlines over the past few days has been one most of the players in the power sector may want to forget. Many Nigerians have wondered whether the federal government has not made a mistake by privatising the Power Sector but this according to the spokesman for the Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributor is not the case.
He expresses his disappointment at what he says are false stories about developments in the Power Sector.
