The Nigerian Armed forces has launched operation accord to address the issue of farmers and the Herds Men clashes in the north east region of the country. Chief of Defence Staff General Abayomi Olonisakin made this known during courtesy visit to his office by the Acting Inspector General of Police in Abuja.
The Defence chief says operation accord will help address security challenges facing the country adding that, there is need to collaborate with the Nigerian Police in order address these challenges through intelligence gathering. He tasks the Nigerian Police to strengthen it’s special squads in order to curb the issue of Kidnapping which has become a menace in the country.
The Acting Inspector General of Police asks for support for capacity building in the marine sector and solicits for a joint operation with the Nigerian military, in order to enhance the Police operation in the Niger Delta region.
