Embattled National Chairman of the main opposition party the Peoples Democratic Party Ali Modu-Sheriff, says the dissolution of the Ahmed Makarfi led Caretaker Committee is final. Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Sheriff insists that the only condition to end the current crisis rocking the party is for him to remain as the authentic National Chairman of the party until 2018.

Speaking at the press conference put together to address the division within the Abia State chapter of the party which has further deepened the ongoing crisis currently destabilising the party, Sheriff discloses that he will not vacate office.

He adds that he has stated his terms to the Governors and those loyal to the Ahmed Makarfi group. He is also keen on holding a National Convention in Abuja to usher in a new set of leaders for the party.
