Efforts have continued apace by the interim Management Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party towards its proposed National Convention despite the objection of the embattled National Chairman of the Party, Ali Modu-Sheriff. Chairman of the interim Management Committee, Ahmed Makarfi, says the party is preparing to take its rightful place in National Affairs with the inauguration of a Zoning Committee for Elective Offices into the National Executive Committee of the party.
With the party still to settle the split between its embattled National Chairman and Governors leading to the Constitution of an interim Management Committee and despite the best efforts of the embattled National Chairman, the interim Management Committee seems to be forging ahead. The latest action of the Committee is the inauguration of a Zoning Committee for elective offices in the National Executive Committee of the party at the proposed National Convention in Port-Harcourt on the 17th of August earlier declared illegal by Sheriff.
Chairman of the Committee in his address to the members of the team jointly Chaired by Ebonyi and Gombe State Governors with former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam as Secretary, urges them to do a good job within a week.
