Nigerians have continued to react to the Federal Government’s scrapping of the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination for candidates seeking admission into higher institutions in the country. Following the controversy generated by the Federal Government’s position on the post – UTME, stakeholders in the sector have called for dialogue to resolve the impasse.

The Federal Government’s scrapping of the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination means that all Tertiary Institutions are at liberty to conduct screening for candidates seeking admission into the institutions. – Not satisfied with the move, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) lambasted Federal Government for scrapping the Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

At a News Conference in Abuja, the Academic Body says that the cancellation portends serious danger to the quality of education in the country, asking the Federal Government to rescind the decision.
