President Muhammadu Buhari will on Tuesday 26th July 2016 flag off the newly completed Abuja (ldu) – Kaduna ( Rigasa) Train Service for commercial operation. The historic event which will take off by 10.00am at the Idu Railway Terminal will be attended by important dignitaries in the society including State Governors, Captains of Industry, Stakeholders in the Transportation Sector.
According to a press release signed by the Director of Press in the Ministry of Transport, Yetunde Sonaike, the Nigerian Railway Corporation has been test running the Train Service by moving people free of charge from Abuja to Kaduna and back since 15th of June 2016.
The Abuja – Kaduna Train Service is part of the on-going efforts and commitment of President Muhammadu Buhari Administration to provide modern, safe and affordable means of Transportation in the country and will serve as a vehicle for for delivering sustainable socio – economic development, Social harmony and Political stability.
