NIGERIAN AIR FORCE GRADUATES 451 ENGINEERS

The Air Force Training Institute, AFTI in Kaduna, has converted some decommissioned Nigeria Air Force Beetle Aircrafts into Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (drones) and graduated a total of four hundred and fifty one students in Engineering. Speaking at the 45th graduation ceremony of the Air Force Institute of Technology, Minister for Science and Technology, Ogbonaya Onu, says, this will assist in job and wealth creation as well as reduce poverty.

Following the outbreak of Nigerian Civil War, variety of aircraft and associated weapon systems were introduced into the Nigerian Air Force. The equipment and weapon systems resulted in corresponding increase in the need for skilled man power to operate and maintained them. Minister’s of Science and Technology says there need to keep pace with technological development through increase in manpower building capacity. He says every effort should be made to reduce importation of military hardware’s in the country.

The Chairman Air Force Institute of Technology and also the Chief of the Air Staff, therefore call on the graduating student to be a good ambassador of the Institute while contributing their quarter to the national development.
