With the high influx of Internally Displaced Persons into the FCT, Some of these children are dying of severe malnutrition which has become imperative to firmly anchor and galvanize a variety of actions at all levels to stem the tide.
But with the support of cost effective nutrition interventions in the FCT, tangible resources to improve infant, young child feeding practices in order to overcome the irreversible physical and cognitive damage can be achieved within this window of opportunity.
The FCT Nutrition officer highlights the right feeding and its importance to child especially after breastfeeding after the first six months which will boost the children’s immune system.
