Minister for Women Affairs Aisha Alhassan has alleged that Relief Materials sent to Taraba State for Internally Displaced Persons has been confiscated by the State Government. The Minister made these allegations in Jalingo while on a tour to the State.
She says the materials were sent to the State by the Presidency for onward distribution to the IDPs. There was confusion in Jalingo when an effort to share relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons in Taraba state was allegedly scuttled by the State Government.
People assumed to be Internally Displaced Persons from 16 Local Government gathered to receive their portion of the Presidential Support Maize, but their expectations were not forthcoming as the items were allegedly seized by the State Government.
