Kano Police Command has blamed the high crime rate in the state on drug abuse.
DSP Abdullahi Haruna said raiding of criminal and drug addict hideouts in Kano State during the 2019 general elections helped in ensuring a peaceful election.
He added that the continuance of such raids could help reduce crimes.
The police said the crime rate in the state has actually reduced due to such raids.
