The Federal High Court in Abuja has struck out a suit seeking an order to declare vacant the seats of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, the Speaker, House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara and 52 other members of the National Assembly who defected in 2018 from their original parties to other parties.
Justice Okon Abang in a judgment held that civil society group Legal Defence and Assistance Project, the plaintiff, lacked locus standi to institute the case.
The court also ruled that the plaintiff failed to prove how it suffered personal damage on the account of the defection.
