One of the aspirants in Kogi State governorship election on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, Victor Adoji had refuted reports that he has dropped out of the race. In a statement released by his campaign office, on the sideline of the ongoing party primary at the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, Adoji denied being part of the seven aspirants, who stepped down for former governor, Idris Wada.
Architect Gabriel Adukwu, the vice chairman of Kogi East Elders Council had earlier stated that seven aspirants, including Adoji, had collapsed their structures in order to support Captain Wada. Adoji’s statement read in part, “We write to debunk the devilish and wicked news making the rounds on social media of the decision of Dr. Adoji to step down for other candidates ahead of the Kogi PDP governorship primaries which will start any moment now.
“This news is of course coming from other opponents who are already afraid of his personality and momentum and have brought up this fake news to confuse our convinced supporters. “We are gaining grounds, moving from Local Government Area to another and our delegates are in love with us. We are very prepared for the primaries and shall come out victorious at the end.”
