The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, has travelled to the United Arab Emirates for the Sixth Assembly of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies. Professor Osinbajo departed Abuja on Sunday and was welcomed at the Abu Dhabi International Airport by UAE’s Minister of State, Ahmed Al Sayegh.
He is expected to deliver a keynote address entitled “The Role of Religions in Promoting Tolerance: From Possibility to Necessity” at the forum. Also, the Vice President would meet with the Crown Prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheik Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nayan, at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi.
According to a statement from Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, both leaders would discuss bilateral issues on how to continue to expand diplomatic and economic relationships between Nigeria and the UAE.
The Assembly of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies is an annual event organised by the government of the United Arab Emirates.
