The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday approved the appointment of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman of the party’s high-level National Campaign Council for the Ondo State Governorship Election.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Yekini Nabena. “The Chairman of the Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the appointment of the Governor of Lagos State, H.E. Babajide Sanwoolu to chair the Party’s high-level National Campaign Council for the Ondo State Governorship Election,” the statement said.
APC’s Rotimi Akeredolu is set to take on other candidates on October 10 for a second term in office. According to the APC statement, the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, will serve as Deputy Chairman of the council while Comrade Mustapha Salihu was designated as Secretary of the 104-member team.
“The campaign council will be inaugurated on Saturday 15th August, 2020 at the APC National Secretariat by 2pm,” Nabena’s statement said.
