EU calls for speedy justice for victims of Lekki Massacre

The European Union High Representative and Vice President, Foreign Policy Chief and Security, Josep Borrell, has called on the Nigerian Government for the swift prosecution of those implicated in the Tuesday night attack on armless protesters in Lekki area of Lagos. He also urged Reforms that will ensure speedy and concrete implementation.

A statement by the Press Officer at Delegation of the European Union to the Nigeria and ECOWAS, Modestus Chukwulaka read:  “It is alarming to learn that several people have been killed and injured during the ongoing protests against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Nigeria.

“It is crucial that those responsible for the abuses be brought to justice and held accountable. “Following the Government’s will to deliver on reforms, we expect to see decisive implementation.
