As the APC in Lagos state prepares for her congresses to elect executives for respective wards, local governments and the state starting from 31st of July 2021, no fewer than 6,615 members of the Lagos4Lagos Movement have signified intention to contest for different positions. The ingenuity of the Lead Visioner of the movement, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) was brought to bear as a way of re-engineering governance and leadership selection approach in the state.
Dr. Adediran boosted the morale of his dedicated team members in each of the 245 wards in Lagos, a move targeted at engendering paradigm shift and securing true choices of the people as representatives which will help meet the agelong yearnings and aspirations of Lagos residents. The meeting points of the Lagos4Lagos movement members across the 245 wards in Lagos State was agog with activities as their Ward Exco aspirants were seen mobilising their supporters and putting finishing touches towards total victory ahead of the Saturday Congress. The movement, with this current thrust, is now set to take over the party structure in the state.
Speaking on the development, Jandor expressed firm optimism, stating that active participation of all stakeholders is required for the enthronement of government of the people, by the people and for the people. He reiterated that the movement has what it takes to restore democratic dignity back to the party in Lagos State. He however warned that any attempt to make this look like the recently thwarted APC Local Govt. primary election in the state would be resisted and may lead to total collapse of APC in Lagos state.
“We are indeed mobilising for progressive change, however any attempt from the state chapter of our party to compromise the process shall vehemently be dealt with”. We won’t even wait for that to happen before we do the needful, he concluded.
