The Lagos4Lagos movement has kicked against the consensus being proposed by the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, for Saturday (tomorrow) ward congress in Lagos state. Speaking at the world press conference yesterday at its headquarters in Lagos, the Lead Visioner, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor said the group will not be part of the consensus proposed by the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC.
Jandor also accused the team sent from Abuja for working with the state Caretaker committee to hoard the forms. He explained that members of the group who have paid for the forms cannot pick up the forms because the man in charge have refused to show up, but telling them to wait despite having only two days left for the congress. “We are not part of GAC and it’s not known to the Party. “We are ready for the congress. But why is the Caretaker committee hoarding the form? Why is an unknown body (GAC) saying we should go for consensus when we haven’t agreed on sharing formula? “The GAC said people should go and hold stakeholders meeting, where?” he asked.
He, however, said because of victimization and imposition, a member of the Lagos4Lagos movement, Sola Thomas, who is the only PDP councilor today was a member of the group, but defected to the PDP when he was denied the ticket to test his popularity and went ahead to win the poll. He also accused Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of playing the victim. “The governor went to Abuja to play a victim that no slot was given to him during the just concluded local government election and that they want to deny him of the second term.”
“Sanwo-Olu has lobbied some of his colleagues and a seven-man committee that will be sent to do his bidding on Saturday (tomorrow) according to our investigation will be led by the Dr Mahmood Bashir. Other members will be Murtala Abubakar and Amb. Tony Ogar who will also serve as secretary.
Jandor maintained that Lagos4Lagos movement is on the lookout for the group tomorrow to see if the insinuation that everything has been predetermined will be confirmed once the ward congress delegates team from Abuja is led by aforementioned team.
