It was sweet homecoming for the Lead Visioner, Lagos4Lagos, Dr. Abdul-azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor), on 26th September, 2021, as the Ojo town, in the Awori kingdom, came out in large numbers to lend their support to the most formidable political movement in Lagos. Thousands of residents, politicians, members of the Lagos4Lagos movement in Ojo and its environs gave Jandor a rousing welcome amid wild jubilation and excitement for what they described as a historic moment.
Reliving their experiences with past administrations in the state, they noted that the entire Badagry Division had been unjustifiably neglected in the scheme of things in the state. They added that the state has never been considered worthy to rule the state either during the military or civil dispensation. Expressing their desire to mobilize the entire Awori indigenes across the state in solidarity to the aspiration of one of their own, the people expressed their happiness on the massive support garnered by Adediran across ethnic, religious and party lines in the local government.
The visit comes after an earlier visit to Badagry where traditional rulers and notable politicians in the state had endorsed the governorship ambition of Adediran. It was the same story at the interactive meeting held at Esa Community, where residents, party faithful, and members of the movement took turns to declare their support. In his remarks, Dr. Adediran expressed his appreciation to the unprecedented support from his local government noting that overwhelming support cuts across ethnic, religious and political divides across the local government.
Describing his decision to liberate the state from impunity as “an idea whose time has come”, he explained that the purveyors of power in the APC have suddenly become jittery because of his formidable political structure. He added that his entrance into the political ring of the governorship race has made the Aworis a major consideration in the political equation of the state ahead of 2023 Guber election. While commending the efforts of members of the movement in mobilization and sensitization, he enjoined eligible voters to get their personal voting cards (PVC) to put the government of their choice in power in 2023.
