Jandor, Apex leaders, others, pay glowing tributes to late Lagos4Lagos Apex Chairperson, Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya

Tributes have continued to pour in for the late Chairperson of the Apex body of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya, who died on Tuesday, January, 2022 at the age of 75. Until her death, the former SSG of Lagos under the Babatunde Fashola administration, was a foremost leader of the Lagos4Lagos movement lending her invaluable support to the Guber aspiration of the Lead Visioner, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor).

Reacting to the news of her death on Tuesday, Jandor described the late Ikorodu born politician as an iconic colossus and dogged fighter who braced all odds to lend her support to the vision and ideals of the movement. He said: “I still can’t believe that Mama Jandor is gone. I am pained but I choose to celebrate the very exemplary, fruitful life she lived while she was here with us. I have lost a mother, an encourager, a confidant and a foremost believer in our cause to birth a Lagos that works for all”. Recalling some of the great moments he had with the former Lagos SSG. Jandor revealed that despite her age, Adenrele Ogunsanya was actively involved in all the activities of the movement.

“How do I quantify the huge vacuum her death will create? She was a colossus, an amiable fighter who rallied our women and provided support without asking for anything.” Jandor stated. Hon. Akeem Alobo Bakare, member of the Lagos4Lagos Apex body described her as a trustworthy, diligent, dependable, honest, virtuous woman of high integrity. In his words: “I can’t still believe she’s no more but we take solace in the fact that she lived an impactful life especially for the Lagos4lagos movement. She was a true and thorough-bred democrat. May her soul Rest In Peace. Amen”

Funke Ijayekunle, Central Coordinator, Lagos4Lagos also described Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya as “a beautiful soul in whom humanity lived. She added: “I have never seen such a social butterfly. Her gift of conversation gave me goose bumps, and she had a genuine interest in people which manifested expressively in her inter-personal relationships with all who crossed her paths in life. I would miss her greatly”. Hon. Akeem Sotomiwa, an Ex-Officio member of Lagos4Lagos Sate Exco. from Ikorodu, also eulogized the quintessential Omoluabi Eko. “She was one in a million.  Her simplicity, humanity and humility remain unequalled.  She was a very strong mother who was so selfless even to her own detriment. She wasn’t just a warrior but a freedom fighter.

He added: “She touched so many lives positively and contributed immensely to the growth of others too numerous to count. She was an unannounced philanthropist who sponsored so many people’s education till God called her”. He stated. Hon. Sunday Ajayi, Chairman, Lagos4Lagos movement, in his tribute, recalled the motherly role the late Chairperson played especially to the Lead Visioner, Jandor. “Mama was an embodiment of great family values. She played motherly role to our Lead Visioner, always ready to lend her support at any time. She cared and mixed freely with the downtrodden despite her privileged background. Her selfless nature was a source of inspiration for us. Our members, especially the women, will greatly miss her motherly interventions. Adieu, Mama Denrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya”.

Principal Coordinator, Lagos4Lagos, Hon Bode Makinde while extolling the virtues of Princess Adenrele Adeniran-Ogunsanya, described her passage as the end of an era. “Mama was the source of our progress, cheerfulness, strong pillar upon which the Lagos4Lagos Movement rested. I am still wondering where else we can get the heartfelt love, care and commitment she lavished on our project to rescue Lagos from the oppressors. He added: “certainly, death is inevitable and every living soul has its death coupon already issued depending on when, where and how. Rest on our dear mother, a bridge builder and a lover of peace”
