Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Obafemi Awolowo University branch, on Thursday called on the Inspector General of Police and Osun State Police Commissioner to address the rising incidence of kidnapping in the country or risk industrial action by lecturers.

He was abducted during a robbery attack that occurred along Ife/Ibadan expressway around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday while he was traveling from Ibadan to Ife.

The man's wife called for the immediate release of her husband to enable the family to continue the search for their baby.
