Armed police operatives and Department of State Security (DSS) on Monday stopped members of “Revolution Now” group, from taking their protest to the streets of Osogbo, Osun State capital.

An unarmed protester has been shot by one of the many police officers deployed by the Nigerian government to curb Revolution Now demonstrations ongoing in several states across the country.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it would only continue to recognize and relate with Mr. Omoyele Sowore as the substantive National Chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC).

Sowore is accused of collecting illegal foreign funds to prosecute his presidential campaigns in contravention of the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
